VanBlarcum Named "Jreck Subs Athlete of the Week"

Morrisville State College freshman Amy VanBlarcum has been named this week's "Jreck Subs Athlete of the Week", for January 26, 2005.

VanBlarcum, member of the women's alpine racing team, led the women to a first place team finish at the Alfred University Invitational last week with a second place finish in the slalom and a fifth place finish in the giant slalom races.

With VanBlarcum's high place finishes, the women defeated opponents

Syracuse University and University of Buffalo in a close race for the overall team win. The first place finish by the women was the best since the 1989 season.

VanBlarcum is majoring in individual studies at Morrisville State and is a 2004 graduate of Onteora High School. She is the daughter of Paul and Barbara VanBlarcum of Big Indian, New York.
